The phrase, "Affiliates are an extended sales force for your business", which is often used to explain affiliate marketing, is not completely accurate. The primary difference between the two is that affiliate marketers provide little if any influence on a possible prospect in the conversion process once that prospect is directed to the advertiser's website. The sales team of the advertiser, however, does have the control and influence up to the point where the prospect either a) signs the contract, or b) completes the purchase.
Hi, Jamie! Very good list. I needed something like this for 2018 so that I know what to target in the future blogs I create. As for now, I’m comfortable using SiteGround affiliate network and it’s pretty good actually. Their hosting service is pretty much the best considered its price. I’ve tried others but SiteGround stands out. I’ll also try new affiliate networks, something from the list you have just provided. I think Amazon is too saturated at the moment, and I need a better network. 2018 will be interesting indeed.

6.4. AWeber will only pay Affiliates for commissions that are earned and tracked while active members of the Program. Any Affiliate that is removed from the Program because of non-compliant behavior will no longer receive commissions from any referred customers. Affiliates who voluntarily close their account will cease earning commissions immediately, as will any Affiliate who is removed due to cessation of promotional activity (no visible links or click activity for a period of one (1) year or more) and is not responsive to outreach attempts.
There are three main types of affiliate ads: pay-per-click, pay-per-lead, and pay-per-sale. Each of these affiliate ad types has one thing in common. They are all performance based — you don’t earn money until your readers perform an action such as clicking on a link or clicking on a link and then purchasing the product on the page to which the link takes them.
By delivering meaningful content that integrates with advertising, content affiliates such as bloggers can establish trust and authority with their followers by sharing their personal experiences using the brand’s product, what they like about it, and why they think it’s worthwhile to purchase. This approach not only conveys a lot more information than a banner ad, but customers are also more receptive to it. Of those currently using ad blockers, 60 percent say they would turn them off to access quality content.
